The Buried Pool House

Buried pool in the backyard of this home we bought.

This was a smoker house, we found oxygen tanks and inhalers all over upon taking possession. It took 3 coats of primer to get the paint to stick even after washing down the walls.

The backyard was especially cool with over 1/3 acre lot. The pool had been filled in since the early 80’s, we dug it out and saved it by painting it with epoxy and simply adding a new pump and filter.

Since this project took place during the beautiful San Diego summer, I fixed the pool first so I could take swim breaks. The concrete flat work in the backyard and clearing of the hill really made it resort-like.

This backyard was great for weekend BBQ’s while finishing the job. The home got new paint in and out, laminate flooring throughout, new dual pane windows, updated kitchen and baths as well as all new fixtures.

I added a sliding glass door from the third bedroom out to the huge new concrete backyard flat work. The house took only 43 days to sell.
