This outdated home was a grandma house in good condition but just needed some cosmetic updating to sell. I really hate doing these light cosmetic rehabs but at the time I couldn’t find a good project. It had great, mature landscaping but awful pink brick. I saw the potential for a quick cosmetic makeover with little expense that would result in a great house for the neighborhood standard so I went into full lipstick mode.
On the inside I removed the outdated blue carpet & candy-striped wall paper, re textured and came back with neutral colors on the walls & carpet. We kept the original kitchen cabinets and just dropped granite slab on top and added new appliances and tile on the back splash and floor. The bathrooms received re glazing of the tile, changing the outdated pink tile to a neutral white.
For the exterior I painted over the pink brick exterior and put on a new charcoal dimensional 30-year roof. The project took me 3 weeks to complete and I came in under budget for just $9,800 for the whole rehab.
